General Manager & Head Barber
It all started in 2009 for Sam working at Toni & Guy were he did his hairdressing apprenticeship. He cut his teeth at Murdock London, with the help of the talented barbers around him he was able to hone his skills in men’s barbering, beard trimming and shaving. For Sam its all about crafting the solution that best meets the clients desires, requirements and hair type – ‘it’s great that I can make a client feel happier and more confident by giving them a good haircut’.
General Manager & Head Barber (In Transition)
Adonis was 17 years old, when he started to help and work at his father’s salon in Athens. After realizing that this was the industry that he wanted to succeed in, he decided that he would move to London to gain his diploma at Vidal Sassoon Academy. During his studies, he completed a course on Barbering which made him realize that his true passion was for barbering. After 4 successful years at Murdock London he decided to take on the next challenge and come to Singapore to join Jermyn Street. The favorite thing he likes about barbering is the relationship that he builds with the clients. His perfect Sunday is relaxing on the beach with nice iced coffee.
Since a young age Frances has been interested in hairdressing. She started off as a corporate trainer in hair products. It was her colleague, a barber whom she respected influenced her to take up cutting. After some time as a hairdresser Frances made the jump to barbering. Frances believes the barbershop chair differs from the salon chair – ‘there is a lot more attention to detail required for cutting men’s hair. This is something I certainly enjoy.’
The reason Dienes got into barbering field because it was in his genes. He says ” It started from my grandfather to my father who taught me the real love towards barbering and that’s inspired me to become a barber. Barbering is an Art. It has no limit. Everyday I learn new things”.
The reason Kunasilan got into barbering is his brother. He had been with him most of the time and noticed the way and styles of hair he made for customers. His brother is his first master. He became a barber since 2005. Then he took hairdressing courses to polish his skills. His favorite thing as a barber is making people beautiful. I satisfy my clients with my skills and make them happy. According to him, if you want to look presentable, visit your barber at least once in three week. His perfect Sunday is to spend time with his daughter.
Carol has been in the beauty industry since 2004, specialising in treating skin problems and extraction. Her skills came from being personally trained by the founder of the Aster Spring company. She is a Demalogica product’s expert and believes the natural ingredients of this product range help to truly provide healthy skin. Carol loves the challenge of understanding the root causes of skin problems and effectively treating them. The best part of Carols job is seeing the satisfaction on the faces of happy customers that she has looked after.
Front of House
A veteran of the hospitality industry, Henny is the engine which keeps the shop going. She takes bookings and understands our customers individual requirements to makes sure the appointments run smoothly. She makes sure our customers get their caffeine fix and she makes a mean G&T as well. As the mother of the barbershop, she makes sure the barbers are always fed, watered and well looked after. She is also a linguist and speaks a number of different languages.
